Meet the West Palm Beach Team Behind Vance Gate Repair West Palm Beach
Our West Palm Beach crew is small by design and experienced by practice. We’re the people who show up when a swing gate won’t close, a slide gate grinds to a stop, or a keypad stops talking to the motor. What ties us together isn’t a uniform or a motto. It’s a shared habit: before we touch anything, we find out what’s actually wrong. Then we write it down, price it, and fix it. Every one of us has been on a gate that someone else gave up on. We don’t give up.
Our People
Rafael M. - Lead Technician, Gate Repair West Palm Beach
Rafael has spent 14 years on gate automation, the last nine of them with Vance Gate Repair in West Palm Beach. He’s the one we send when a motor starts and the gate doesn’t move, or when a Gate opener hums but a capacitor has quietly failed. Rafael is factory-trained on LiftMaster and FAAC operators and carries the wiring diagrams for Ghost Controls and Mighty Mule in his head, not just his van. He’s also the most patient welder on the team when a hinge saddle is cracked but the leaf is still worth saving. Off the clock, Rafael rebuilds vintage Honda motorcycles. His bench grinder has seen things.
Debra S. - Senior Installer, Gate Installation West Palm Beach
Debra has been installing gates since 2011 and joined Vance Gate Repair in 2017. She handles full gate installations, from setting posts in sandy West Palm Beach soil to hanging a 400-pound ornamental leaf and dialing in the latching so it seats without slamming. Debra is our go-to for butterfly gates in tight driveways and for cantilever slide gate track work where the rollers have to sit perfectly level or the whole thing fights you forever. She keeps a torque wrench in the cab and a paperback western in the glovebox. She’s originally from Okeechobee and still calls a gate leaf a “leaf,” never a “panel.”
Marcus T. - Service Coordinator, Gate Access Control
Marcus is the voice on the phone at any hour. He’s been with Vance Gate Repair West Palm Beach for six years and knows the difference between “the gate won’t open” and “the gate opens but won’t close and there’s a car stuck halfway.” That distinction saves our customers real money. Marcus schedules every visit and makes sure each customer gets a technician’s name and photo before arrival. He also logs every job record and keeps the photo documentation files straight. Before Vance, Marcus worked dispatch for a medical equipment company, which is where he learned that a calm voice at 2 a.m. matters more than an apology. He’s the reason you’ll never hear a voicemail loop.
Owen P. - Apprentice Technician, Gate Parts and Welding
Owen has been with the crew for two years and is nearing the end of his apprenticeship under Adrian Vance. He started on gate parts and welding, grinding rust off hinge brackets and cutting replacement pickets. Now he’s running camera and loop detector wire, setting photo-eyes on rebuilt slide gates, and learning how to read a limit switch that’s six degrees out of travel. Owen is the one who labels every part number and matches it to the photo log before it goes in the customer’s file. He grew up in Port St. Lucie and drives a 2006 Tacoma that somehow always starts. Nobody on the crew has ever seen the bed empty.
One Standard, Every Job

The West Palm Beach team works under rules that don’t change from truck to truck or job to job. Every visit starts with finding the actual problem, not guessing at it. Every visit ends with a written price handed over before any work starts, and a documented photo record of what was found, adjusted, and installed. We don’t skip steps when the driveway is hot and the customer is in a hurry. We don’t replace a motor because it’s easier than testing the capacitor. Adrian Vance set this standard in 2014 doing commercial access control in Florida, and it’s the same one Rafael, Debra, Marcus, and Owen follow now. If we repair it, we stand behind it for 365 days. If it’s not right, we come back. That’s not a policy. It’s how the crew is built.
